The topic of today’s discussion revolves around a pivotal question: How do you develop a leadership brand? A 'brand' is a term more commonly associated with businesses, products, and public figures, but rarely do we think of ourselves, as individuals and leaders, as brands. 

However, consider this: your leadership brand is your personal identity that distinguishes you from others. It's your signature style, the unique touch that you bring to your leadership approach. But how does one go about developing this brand? 

The answer is straightforward, albeit easier said than done: Be yourself. Many leaders, particularly those in larger organizations, often feel pressured to play a role that they believe is expected of them. But authenticity, transparency, and genuineness are the cornerstones of effective leadership and brand building. 

Your leadership brand shouldn't be a carefully crafted persona that you don for the workplace. Rather, it should be an honest reflection of who you are at your core. It's about being consistent and true to yourself and your values. 

If you strive to be authentically yourself, you're already on your way to building an impressive leadership brand. This does not mean that there isn't room for improvement or growth, but it does underline the importance of authenticity in your leadership journey. 

The key takeaway is to refrain from playing a role and be honest with yourself and your team. As the adage goes, 'be yourself; everyone else is already taken.'
